Titanium Symposium 2022

On November 4, 2022, “Titanium Symposium 2022 (The 6th Titanium Symposium)” was held at the Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), the University of Tokyo. It was hosted by The Japan Titanium Society, The Japan Institute of Titanium, Rare Metal Workshop (Organizer: Professor Toru H. Okabe), Research Center for Sustainable Material Energy Integration, and JX Metals Endowed Unit.

Mr. Yasuji Yamao, President and Representative Director of Toho Titanium Co., Ltd., Mr. Tadao Araike from OSAKA Titanium technologies Co., Ltd., and Prof. Toru H. Okabe gave lectures on the future of titanium. Their lectures were followed by a general discussion on the future of the titanium supply chain.

To prevent COVID-19 infection, this symposium was held in a hybrid format, where the audience gathered in the convention hall was limited to approximately 30 people, and the lectures were broadcasted via Zoom and YouTube. More than 200 people from the industry, academia, and government attended the symposium.
