On July 15, 2022, 32 graduate students from the Department of Materials Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, and 11 faculties from the Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), the University of Tokyo, visited the JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation headquarters. Dr. Ouchi coordinate and hold this event. After watching an introduction video about the JX Metals’ business, the participants experienced the introduction of projects that utilize cutting-edge technology, such as a tour of the SQUARE LAB and a plant tour using VR. Furthermore, a workshop was held on the theme of “Creation of Items Utilizing Next Generation Communication Technologies and Sensors.” There was a lively exchange of opinions between the employees and the participants after the tour. It was a great opportunity for the participants to learn the importance on non-ferrous metals and the recycling.
