On January 18, 2022, a joint meeting on STEAM education was held by JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation, Yoshimoto Kogyo Holdings Co., Ltd., the Platform for Learning Innovation Japan (PLIJ), and Okabe Lab at the JX Nippon Mining & Metals headquarters.

There was a lively exchange of opinions on plans to get to junior and senior high school students interested in the usefulness of nonferrous metals and the importance recycling these as well as contents that enable STEAM education to contribute to ESG and SDGs.

The participants also experienced the introduction of projects that utilize cutting-edge technology, such as a tour of the SQUARE LAB in the JX Nippon Mining & Metals headquarters and a plant tour using VR and discussed their application to STEAM education.
