Graduate Students at the Department of Materials Engineering, The University of Tokyo Visited the JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation Headquarters
On July 15, 2022, 32 graduate students from the Department of Materials Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, and 11 faculties from the Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), the University of Tokyo, visited the JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation headquarters. Professor Ouchi coordinated the event.
After watching an introductory video about the JX Metals’ business, the participants were given an introduction to projects that utilize cutting-edge technology, such as a tour of the SQUARE LAB and a plant tour using VR. Furthermore, a workshop was held on the theme “Future Utilizing Next Generation Communication Technologies and Sensors.” There was a lively exchange of opinions between the employees and the participants after the tour. It was a great opportunity for the participants to learn about the importance of non-ferrous metals and recycling.
